BIOFACH 2014: know-how, enjoyment and inspiration

  • New: clusters of BIOFACH highlights
  • Tailor-made programme offers added value for traders

BIOFACH invites the sector to its 25th edition from 12–15 February 2014. The World’s leading Trade Fair for Organic Foodhas grown up. Over 2,400 exhibitors and more than 40,000 trade buyers are expected again in Nürnberg for the 25th anniversary in 2014. Together with VIVANESS, the International Trade Fair for Natural Personal Care, BIOFACH reflects the whole variety of the global market for organic food and natural cosmetics every year. Today it is all the more important to provide guidance and present tailor-made programmes for traders. The highlights at BIOFACH will therefore be rearranged in 2014 into the five clusters of Trends & Innovations, Generation Future, Congress, Fachhandelstreff and Worlds of Experience.

Exhibitors and visitors will find Trends & Innovations concentrated on the Novelty Stand, where 474 innovative and inspiring products were to be discovered at the last edition of BIOFACH (571 including the VIVANESS Novelties). New in 2014 is a separate category for vegan food. The visitors will again choose the winner of the Best New Product Award from the products entered for the Novelty Stand. Trend scouts should also not miss the stand for young innovative companies, which is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). This is also an annual treasure trove for future-orientated and inspiring organic products. Generation Future includes the extended job market with the group of exhibitors for Training – Work – Prospects and the Careers Centre. The Organic Food Research Award is also part of this cluster. The BIOFACH and VIVANESS Congress is being reorganized for 2014. The important aims of the reorganization are a stronger emphasis and focus on the individual topics and forums, a reduction to some 70 individual events and even more variety and inspiration. The Fachhandelstreff forms the central communication location for the German specialist trade. It includes both the Fachhandels Forum, which concentrates presentations and congress events in the hall and is open to all visitors, and the Fachhandelsclub, which serves as a location for concentrated talks, relaxation and selected information. Admission to the club is free, but proof of eligibility as a specialist retailer is required.

Worlds of Experience: informing, trying and inspiring

There are five Worlds of Experience to discover at BIOFACH 2014. Experience the World of Cheese celebrated its premiere in February 2013. The successful concept will now be extended and applied to Olive Oil, Wine, Fish and Coffee at the next event, where traders can gather sound practical information about the respective range of products from recognized experts, try out the products and obtain inspiration for their own shop. The experience and enjoyment is provided by the following components: presentations with tasting, workshops and information transfer in dialogue with the culinary connoisseurs, the real experts on the range.

Udo Funke, Director Exhibitions BIOFACH and VIVANESS: “Together with our partners, the experts available as contacts in the individual Worlds of Experience, we offer this concept with great added value for BIOFACH visitors from the retail trade. Besides the attractive presentation form, this mainly comprises the depth of information we achieve through supplementary workshops and discussions. We hope this will provide every trader with exactly what benefits him most in his personal everyday work at the cheese or fish counter, olive oil and wine rack or the coffee bar in his own shop: sales and positioning assistance and many best practice examples.”
