| Descripción : It was in the 20ies when Karl and Margret Voelkel settled on the Höhbeck, a sparsely populated area alongside the river Elbe. They started a fruit orchard comprising apple, pear and cherry trees as well as currant and gooseberry bushes there. The couple tended the garden with loving care. The various plants were looked after according to biodynamic principles. This fruit orchard served as a basis for a mobile fruit press called "Mostmax" that travelled the region and turned the fruit right on one's doorstep into delicious juice. Later on, they turned the local dairy into an organically-working fruit pressing plant. In the middle of the 40ies it was their son Harm who extended the company considerably. The range of juices he was able to offer was quite unusual in those days as he also processed wild fruit such as blackberries, elderberries, rose hips and sloes. Today, Stefan Voelkel is the head of this most modern organic fruit pressing plant. Together with his more than 100 members of staff he produces more than 200 drinks for the national and international natural food market. We attach a high value to a mutual and fair partnership with our suppliers. Long-term business on fair conditions enables us to obtain first-class ecological fruit and vegetables. Thanks to regular controls by independent supervisory bodies we can guarantee that strict criteria are complied with. Also the juices are subject to permanent controls in our own lab as well as independent ones. Our quality assurance is certified according to the international standard IFS version 4. We find it also especially important that integral aspects are respected. This way of thinking and many years of experience put us in a position to safeguard the natural property of the fruit and vegetables. All our juices are 100 % direct juices. Our juices are pasteurised very carefully. Short time heating and immediate following cooling make sure that vitamins and minerals are retained to a large extent. We process only fruit and vegetables that have gone through strict controls. We produce our juices and lemonades without the addition of sugar, artificial flavouring and colouring and without genetic engineering. What makes the difference? Demeter - organic - fruit from irregularly planted fruit meadows - wild fruit It is true that we attach special value to our biodynamic Demeter products but you will find juices in different qualities under the Voelkel brand: Demeter, organic (complying with EU-regulations) and juices from irregularly planted fruit trees. Furthermore, our range includes juices from fruit growing in the wild. The labels "Organic" and "Ecological" in connection with food are protected by law. Only those products which comply with the specific EU directives may be labelled accordingly. Voelkel is always looking for fresh fruits and vegetables in organic or demeter quality. |
